I've had a passion for photography since receiving my first camera on my eighth birthday. I have a love of all things creative, but photography has always been my principal way of expressing myself and conveying things in a way that nothing else can. I present my photos without explanation or story: they should speak for themselves.

I cover a wide range of subjects, and can honestly say that I haven't yet encountered a type of photography that I don't enjoy.

I love getting to know new people and discussing ideas and concepts, and had fun being an official photographer for the popular 'Suicide Girls' website for a while. As well as working with models, I equally enjoy working with the camera-shy, spending time getting them to relax, and showing them the results. Seeing the excited face of somebody who usually hates photos of themself is one of the things I find most rewarding. I honestly think that everyone can be attractive in their own way, it's just a case of getting them relaxed and knowing how to capture it.

Having grown up around lots of animals, they usually take to me quickly, and I love trying to capture their personality. I generally dislike the studio portraits of pets and children that people hand over vast quantities of money for. Not only do you get very few prints from the shoot, but the images are never very natural and have little expression. This is why I like to photograph both children and pets either in their own home or at a local park or playground, and I'm always happy to play with the subject until they are relaxed.

I have to say that working on film sets is one of my favourite things, being spoilt for choice as to what to focus on. I've been on a lot of sets in different capacities so I know when to be quiet and never get in the way of the production. On set there is always something going on - not only the scenes themselves being shot, but behind-the-scenes is usually just as interesting. And with everyone so focused, I have the opportunity to get some great candids of the cast and crew, as well as doing whatever publicity shots are needed for the production.

In my personal photography projects, I have a love for macro (close-up) shots, and picking out small details. Combining this with my love of nature, I take a lot of photos of flowers, insects, cats' eyes and dogs' noses! I also take a lot of candid shots of my friends and family, as well as random pictures of strangers, and anything else that I find interesting. It's rare that I'm ever without a camera of some sort, just in case I miss something! Abandoned places and overlooked things also facinate me, and my favourite shots tend to have a dark aesthetic - combining beauty and sadness, as life itself often does.

I am currently based near London, and also stay frequently in Scotland.
